Some of these were taken by me, some by my friend Summer's brother and sister in law. They are so talented and VERY reasonable, so if you want some cute pics of your kids let me know and I'll give you their info!

QUESTION

How am I supposed to go to the DR today with two babies all by myself? I thought I was wonder woman. I changed my mind.

My Sweet Mama

For the passed 2 weeks I have been fortunate enough to have my mom here to help me with my kids. I can't even begin to express how much help she has been to me. Having a second child so close to my first has been quite the adventure... to be honest I have no idea how I am going to make it, but I know somehow I will. After we got home from the hospital I would lay in bed in the mornings with Tate, while my mom took over Lilly, and I would hear them in the kitchen singing songs and having a great time. She spent most of her days reading books and playing patty cake. Not to mention she had a little shadow wherever she went! Today when we had to say good-bye Lilly started crying and only wanted to be with her grandma, which if you know Lilly, that is a HUGE compliment because she won't go to anyone willingly. I just want my mom to know how much I love her and how grateful I am to her for all of her help and love. I truly couldn't ask for a better mom, I am so lucky.

2 weeks left!

Our house is almost done! The inside is all completed, just last minute things.. and the driveway may even be poured.. our picture taker sometimes doesn't make it over as often as HE SHOULD! Just kidding, we love you Dale! We are officially packing up August 1st and 2nd and leaving the 3rd. :( Lots to do with a bran new baby around.. but we will manage! We are thinking of having a get together on Wednesday, July 29th, at a park and picnic dinners. So I'll be contacting y'all who live in town but if you look at this and already know if that will work or won't work, let me know! Love you guys!

Tate's Arrival

Because I had gall bladder problems the last couple weeks of my pregnancy with Lilly, my doctor didn't want to take any chances this time around. He decided to induce me a week early, which was fine by me! We had the choice of Wednesday 07/08/09 or Thursday 07/09/09. So being the cool date that Wednesday was, and that it was the sooner of the two days, we chose 07/08/09. The hospital called us that morning and asked us if we could be there in 30 minutes. (the night before they had called saying we will call you tomorrow and give you plenty of time to get there.) My question is how is 30 minutes "plenty of time"? Don't they know a girls' gotta get ready? Anyhow, we made in 60 minutes. They hooked me up, got me started on the IV's, I was dialated close to a 4 going in, and off we went! About and hour and a half later, I got an epidural, and about an hour after that I was dialated to a 7 and the nurse called the doc up to start pushing which we thought was kinda weird. They were very professional and discrete about it, but later I found out the cord was wrapped around his neck and his heartbeat kept dropping every time I contracted so they wanted to get the little man out so I didn't have to have a c-section. Pushing was much different this time than with Lilly because I wasn't fully dialated and I had just gotten my epidural so I was NUMB, and couldn't feel where I needed to push, so it took a little bit longer and I kept feeling like a failure because I knew the little guy needed to get out and I just couldn't make it happen! When the nurse said to me, "the sooner you get him out the better" I started to panic and knew that this operation needed to be over and done with. So anyway, he came shortly thereafter and is our beautiful little man. He had a perfectly round head and the prettiest complexion. (If you can say that about a boy). We love him so much! Lilly loves to touch him, and she definately knows there is a change. Some moments are great, some are difficult, but we wouldn't change anything... We just know there will be a BIG gap between Tate and the next one! Thank you to everyone who has helped with Lilly! We have so many wonderful friends and family who are always there, and we love you so much.

On our way! Ready or not... He's comin!
Contractions were every 2 to 3 minutes
He's here! Perfect little guy!
We adore him...

The sweet Grandpa's in our lives

The sweet grandpa's of our lives were so thoughtful in sending us flowers for the birth of our son Tate. I thought both bouquets were absolutely beautiful. Grandpa Hill came to meet Tate last weekend, and Grandpa Mills comes this weekend. Thank you so much to both of you for the gorgeous flowers and sweet notes. (Somehow in the transition from the hospital to the house we lost Grandpa Hill's card.) We love both of you very much and appreciate your examples in our lives.

Cute little story: When Lilly first got to the hospital after I had Tate, she walked right in and her eyes met this little bear attatched to the bouquet of flowers. She did not take her eyes off it until we gave it to her and then she carried it with her the rest of the visit.

Introducing...

Tate LeRoy Hill
Born: July 8, 2009
at 3:08 p.m.
6 lbs. 8 oz.
20 inches long

When "Knox" first arrived, the instant I saw him I had this feeling he wasn't a "Knox." After talking with Josh a few hours later, I discovered we both felt the same way. I didn't sleep for hours thinking about this little boys name. 24 hours later we both felt this little man's name was Tate. We love him and are so thankful he is in our family. He is so sweet and special. More pics to come...

Fourth of July Weekend

We had a wonderful holiday this year. We started celebrating our Independence Friday night with some friends in Bountiful at Eaglewood Golf Course. It was so incredible! We were so amazed at how many people were there!

Us with our friends, Janet and Ray

A view from where we were sitting..

Lilly had so much fun running around the grass and playing with the other kids!

So I printed off some instructions on the internet about how to take good pics of fireworks and this is what I got... they are OK, better than years past, but I was hoping for more spectacular!

Saturday, we went to our second parents house here in Salt Lake, Karen and Chad. We started out the day at a carnival in the neighborhood, and then went swimming for a couple hours, had a yummy BBQ, and ended our night with our own fireworks show and finale! They had one of their sons in town with his family which made it really fun for visiting. And Lilly loved playing with the other kids.

So Josh, ODay, and Mark played the longest game of HORSE I have ever seen, and Josh worked on this 360 shot for about an hour and finally made it! He gave everyone else an "H". They didn't have all the practice he did! ha ha

Thank you so much to Janet, Ray, and the Evans for such a fun weekend! We had so much fun!
