Bad habits with creative solutions!

So.. as I have talked with my friends I have found that most "first time" moms make the same mistake I am making right now! Holding my baby ALL THE TIME! I'm just so in love with her I can't put her down.. well now I'm getting to the point where I want to get things done and she is used to me holding her. Its time to break the habit! So I started putting her in this sling as I walk around the house to get things done. Well sometimes that's even annoying so I decided to hang it up from the boppy over the recliner to make her "feel" like she is being held!! ha ha. I even got a good laugh outta that one! It worked... she stayed asleep!

4th of July! Happy Independence!

We had such a wonderful weekend up in Park City at a lodge in Deer Valley called the Red Stagg. We stayed there over Memorial Weekend and had such a good time that we wanted to go back. The weather was so wonderful and we had such a relaxing time just the 3 of us! Friday we were invited to a yummy BBQ with Sommer at her sister-in-laws house up on the bench where we also had an amazing view of the fireworks! Saturday we lazed around and went to lunch down on Main Street. Grandma Carson met up with us Saturday afternoon and stayed over until Sunday. We all watched Steel Magnolias, and Josh loved it! Who said guys don't enjoy chick flicks? Sunday after we checked out of the hotel, we went down to the Park City Market, where they close off the street and have a bunch of tents set up to buy all the "home grown goods and apparell!" We enjoyed a slice of pizza and looking at all the neat things to buy. We had such a good time enjoying the time away from work and school to celebrate our country's Independence!

Ok, this is significant because Lilly has this little temper (that she got from her dad) and when she gets mad, yes at just 4 weeks old, she will grab this passie and throw it out of her mouth! The last throw I measured was about 4 feet! She makes the funniest little faces.. I just LOVE HER!
Today was the first day something fit without it being PREMIE! HOORAY! I will now have so much fun playing dress up!
This picture is to show her fluffy hair! I laugh so hard when she first gets out of the bath before I put lotion in it to tame it.. Isn't she just the cutest little girl?!

Who's the little birdie in the nest?

Its my gorgeous little daughter! I had to post this picture because I think she looks so cute looking up at these little birds that move around, which tells me that her sight is starting to get better! When can babies start focusing? When will she start seeing her beautiful mom smiling down on her??? ha ha

What did I do to deserve this?????

Ok, so this is my first most obvious "first time mom" experience. The other day I had the bright idea that I wanted to stamp Lilly's feet. So yesterday I decided to take it to task. About 30 seconds into it I knew I had made a mistake, but what do I do? KEPT TRYING! Each hand and foot I stamped the more ink went everywhere. I only took pictures of the baby after the whole ordeal, you should have seen my house! The ink pad fell on the floor, the table got painted, then there was her bath tub, and the counter where I took off her clothes! So after I got her cleaned up (which took forEVER because I kept transferring it from me to her) I started to clean up myself. I looked down and there was a black foot print all over the kitchen floor. So I look at the bottom of my feet and sure enough, I had somehow stepped in the d*mn ink pad!! Needless to say, I realized that I was probably a new mom, because any experienced mom would know that this was a mistake from the beginning, better yet, would know not to even go down to the craft store and buy the ink. The last question I have for myself and those of you who read this is why didn't I find an ink pad that said washable? Why did I buy one that was permanent? Oh well, a few hours after it happened I was laughing about it. Josh always asks me, "are you going to do all this for each kid we have?" Meaning scrapbooks, clothes, etc. and I always say yes, but this time it is a dead NO! Poor little girl...
